Leaked Gender-Affirmative Training Videos, Part 4: Trans Children's Identity Evolution

This is the fourth of 12 hours of videos that were leaked to me of a training that Dr. Johanna Olson-Kennedy, a leading pediatric gender care doctor, and her two colleagues provided to mental-health practitioners in the gender-affirming care method in April 2024.

Hour four is the second of two hours of training provided by Darlene Tando, a licensed clinical social worker, who runs the Tando Therapy Team, which specializes in gender-affirming care, in San Diego.

A major observation I have from this video is that Tando never suggests that a child might ever be mistaken about being trans or that medical interventions might ever be inadvisable. Even if a child’s gender identity might evolve over time, she advises that parents always affirm whatever identity the child presents at the moment. She goes so far as to suggest, by showing a video that expresses this notion, that the alternative is the child’s death by suicide.
