The effort to discredit HHS's massive report on pediatric gender medicine is fast underway
The 409-page report is a surprisingly dispassionate document, given it was published at the behest of the Trump administration, which has engaged in an outright assault on transgender people.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services this morning published a mammoth, 409-page report entitled “Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: Review of Evidence and Best Practices.” The report is a response to the demand made by the White House on January 28 for an assessment, delivered within 90 days, of the evidence base behind pediatric gender medicine.
I have only read the introductory pages, so I can’t attest to the quality or content of the overall document. But my first impression is that I agree with
’s overall assessment in his article for The Dispatch on the report. Given the report has been delivered within the context of the Trump administration’s wildly politicized take on transgender people and gender-transition treatment, the document provides a remarkably dispassionate, even-handed and evidence-based take.
